Nighttime (or Anytime) Diaper
Some of you might be skeptical about using cloth on your baby overnight since you may be worried about leaks. I have used several styles on Isaiah and here’s the one that has beat them all. It is called a “fitted” diaper. It is made of the same hemp jersey, hemp fleece and bamboo velour as my other diapers (for details see “Cuddly Newborn Cloth” and “All About My All-in-Ones”). There are 2 layers of hemp jersey and 1 layer of bamboo velour (closest to baby) in the body, and the diaper has 2 soakers made up of 3 layers each of hemp fleece and 1 layer each of bamboo velour. The soakers are only sewn to the diaper in the back to allow for faster drying time. This diaper is super absorbant and it is all I use on Isaiah for nighttime. For super heavy wetters you could add a doubler (an extra soaker with 3 more layers of hemp jersey), but it really works great all by itself. This diaper also has potential to fit baby from about 10- 30 lbs because it is super stretchy with leg and back elastic and can fold down in front for smaller babies. It requires a waterproof cover and a Snappi or pins (or you could go without the Snappi or pins if you use the cover to hold things in place…I sometimes use pins and sometimes just throw the cover on, depending on how squirmy my toddler is being). An added benefit I have found with this diaper is that it doesn’t have a strong smell in the morning like we found with some of our other diapers as our son got older and his urine became more acidic (anything with microfleece and microfiber holds smells). So if you are looking for a really absorbant, natural option for nighttime, you should give this diaper a try.
These are one size, fitting approximately 10-30 lbs, which make them a great choice to use full time, not just at night, if you are looking for a diaper that will last from near birth to potty training.

The diaper in these pictures has green stitching, but I will do any color you like, if you just specify in your order. If you don’t specify, the color will be natural. Also, the soakers will be slightly shorter than this one is, to allow for better fold down in the front for smaller babies.
